What Everyone Wants to Know

What Everyone Wants to Know

For some people, finding yaoi just kinda happened. No one really knows how they stumbled a crossed it. Some may have just followed the links that people posted. Other might have typed in the names of two great partners (i.e. Kurama and Hiei) and find a ton of yaoi links about them. Others might have been converted to the yaoi religion by friends.

But the big question, whatever everyone wants to know is which anime is yaoi?

I know I’ve always had this questioned. Now when I first found yaoi, the anime’s I watched weren’t technically yaoi, but had those implications. In my first blog post, I talked about Sailor Moon, Yu Yu Hakusho and I believe Gundam Wing. These were the first of many anime’s that I found were yaoi. Later down the road, after countlessly searching, I was able to find more.

However, I know a lot of people don’t have the time to do that. And when you type in ‘yaoi’ into Google, what do you get? A bunch of pictures, a bunch of porn sites to go to, but not many ever stating what anime is which and what is yaoi. Some people, including myself, resort to hoping there is yaoi in the stores. Sometimes you’re lucky, other times you’re not.

Take this anime for example:

When I first saw this anime in Movie Stop, it looked really interesting. The pink-haired person was so androgynous that I thought it could either be a male or a female. So how to decide if this is yaoi or not? Well read the back right? And that’s what I did.

Now at first read, you see it’s about a boy who lost his memory, wakes up and finds himself in the company of another boy, who is apparently his friend. It seems like a great drama, because the first boy, Sora, has to find out his past. So already we established there are two boys, however, that doesn’t mean Sunao is the pink-haired person right? So, how can one tell that this is possibly a yaoi? Well what caught my attention was this little part right here:

That little sentence was more than I needed to think that this was a yaoi. So why not buy it? It was like $3 and if I didn’t like it, it was only $3. I got this before the economic downturn and $3 wasn’t that much of a waste. Was I disappointed? Hell no! This was not only a yaoi, but from the first scene in the first episode, the hot smexiness of yaoi illuminated the screen and it only go better from there! But it’s not always easy to tell if an anime is yaoi or not.

Which brings me to the topic of today’s post, what everyone wants to know, which anime’s a yaoi or have yaoi implications? So I will help aid in your search for yaoi. Here is a brief list of anime titles I have collected just for this topic.

*= Hard Core yaoi (yeah you know, the stuff you want to see!)

**= Soft Core yaoi (the sweet stuff, implications of what they do, but you don’t see it)

* ½ = Kinda hard core, but still soft core. You see more in it, but not enough to be hard core.

The one’s I’ve marked, they are ones I’ve watched before. A good place to watch these guys is on aarin’sfantasy. I really prefer Shounen Maid Kuro-kun, even though it is shota. It comes in two forms, doujinshi and anime form, both are wonderful. I can tell you, for true yaoi fans, you need to watch the ones I have ‘*’ if you haven’t already. If you have seen the ones I’ve marked, then I suppose maybe it’s time to look at the others right? We always need a yaoi fix, and as long as there is yaoi out there, we watch it!

So there you go, I hope I have helped you, my readers. I know I never had anyone help me when I went searching for yaoi, and back then, there wasn’t much anime out there to be watched or talked about. Now there is an abundance of yaoi to watch, and in the future, there will be more and more yaoi to watch. The future looks wonderful for us yaoi fangirls/boys. Maybe one day then, yaoi will be an open topic that we don’t have to secretly hide. After all, if you ask me, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to watch two men have sex together. It’s the same as watching two girls, or a man and a woman. It’s something we like, that arouses us. It satisfies our sexual curiosity in a good way.

However, I do not condone sex with little children, or having sex with a partner without using protection. Unless both partners know they are clean and remain loyal to each other. Sharing is caring, but sharing gives you diseases, and no one wants to see what a diseased vagina or penis looks like, nor do they want to go through all the symptoms of having one. So let’s all do our part, practice safe sex. (Wow, that was completely off topic, but that was my soapbox for the day. ^.^)

Leave me some wonderful comments guys! Don’t forget; post what you would like me to talk about in my next post! I promise to get to everyone’s topic choice.

What are the Difference between Anime/Manga Yaoi and Real Life Yaoi?

I wrote this last week and I meant to post it, but forgot all about it. And then vacation weekend came and I didn't have internet access until now. So here is my post, I hope you enjoy!

What are the Difference between Anime/Manga Yaoi and Real Life Yaoi?

So recently I got a comment with a story explaining how a yaoi lover saw an older gentleman with a younger boy and how the thought of yaoi entered her mind as she saw the younger man whipping down, as if to tease the older man. That story (comment to my last post) was very vivid and painting a nice picture in my mind. However, a question popped into my head which slowly developed.

My original question was, if the younger male really was teasing the older, if they started making out or groping each other, what would happen? What I wanted to know was if she would have stayed and watched or left? I’m sure any yaoi fan would say “Stay! It’s yaoi, duh! You have to watch!” Well that makes all good sense I have to stay, but as I contemplated this question more, it sort of developed and is now the title of this post.

What are the difference between anime/manga yaoi and real life yaoi?

It’s easy for one to say that this is a silly question. There is no difference right? Well I beg to differ. There is a great difference, simply between anime and manga yaoi. But throwing in real life yaoi even adds to it. Let’s first look at anime yaoi.

Anime yaoi, I believe, by far is the best yaoi out there. Though it is not the widest available yaoi, it gives you something that manga simply cannot; it gives you animation. Like porn, yaoi and even yuri and hentai anime is a movie of sorts, and in some are even a series, such as Bible Black, Sukisho and Gravitation. The animation given allows one to really enjoy what is going on, because it not only targets the optical sensors, but as well as auditory.

Let’s face it, porn wouldn’t be porn if you couldn’t watch it or hear the noises made because both of those factors enhances the sexual arousal and rush a person can feel when watching it. These are factors that manga does not cover, however aarinsfantasy.com has done a wonderful job in turning original yaoi manga into animated yaoi. If you create a FREE account at this site, you will get full access to the movies, as well as places and links to go to in order to download these movies.

From here we will go to manga, but later we might return to this topic.

The manga page above is from my very favorite yaoi manga Black Sun. I have state in a previous post that Black Sun is by far, the only yaoi manga that I have come across that is completely uncensored in anyway. As you can see, there is a complete difference from watching a movie and looking at a picture and reading it. I will compliment that manga does do a wonderful job at letting the imagination take over as to what is really going on and how the emotions are being conveyed, especially if the manga and in some cases doujinshi in a different language.

Since I have mentioned it, let me cover doujinshis for just a moment. Doujinshis, I have found, do tend to be different from manga, which to begin with, I thought they were the same. Manga I have noticed tends to run in a series, and very rarely have I’ve come across manga that is a one shot. Whereas Doujinshis tend to be more one shots then a series. Their set up is very similar to mangas, where you read from right to left. However the size is comparably different. Manga books are very short and thick, or they could be the size of a regular as is the case with the book JBoy and compilation books of numerous volumes of a series, such as Yellow. Doujinshis on the other hand, are taller and thinner and generally, more expensive than mangas, which I believe is because it’s in a foreign language, not because of its content.

Relatively, the differences between manga and doujinshis are not greatly varied, and for the sake of this post, I will concentrate more on mangas because that’s one that is widely known and many more of you have, rather than doujinshis, which are harder to acquire, normally by means of EBay.

Switching back to the topic, manga is definitely more widely available than the majority of yaoi. However, at times it could lead you wanting. Yes they give great stories, but you have to use your imagination to picture the actual movements, the scenes and even the noises made. This is okay, because it’s making you activate your brain. However, the effects of arousal from mangas can disappear quicker than if watching anime. And at times it could be harder to even get into the manga and aroused, and that can be frustrating because it turns out that that specific manga is not what you expected.

I am not bashing manga, please don’t get me wrong, but I’m pointing out the differences between manga and anime and how it affects you and your arousal. I recommend reading manga if that is your cup of tea, but I also recommend watching anime as well and you can see for yourself the differences of it all.

Now we come to the heart of this issue, real life yaoi. My main question had been, if you saw it, would you stay and watch or go away? If you ask me, there really is a huge difference anime/manga yaoi and real life yaoi. There is a sense of fiction with anime/manga, an air of fantasy. It just seems so weird. If you look at regular porn and then you look at hentai, it’s the same, but at the same time is fake, it’s over exaggerated on the hentai side and that’s what gives it the appeal it has.

Same with yaoi. In the clip above, as you saw, it’s a real life yaoi clip. Now for some, maybe not all, it feels a little strange to watch something like that right? Why is that? Well it has every little bit to do with the differences mentioned in the question. These are real life people and maybe even someone knows these men. But then again, it’s porn, it’s something you watch on the computer or on TV, which makes it different. What really brings this home is that in some cases you can find yaoi all around you, like in the story mentioned. You can watch it with your own eyes, standing right before you. It’s different then isn’t it?

In anime, you know it’s fake. You know whatever is going on isn’t true and in essence it’s basically a cartoon, just animation. In mangas they are comics that are just drawn. But in real life it’s completely different. There is no animation, no comics, it’s raw, it’s real, and it’s actual men. The differences are so great from anime/manga that it’s scary.

But it still leaves the question open, what would you do? If you had live, raw yaoi in front of you, what would you do?

Want to know what I would do? So do I and I’ll let you know if it ever happens to me.
